Research

Audience Surveys

Over the past 15 years the Fitzcarraldo research group has acquired considerable experience in studying the public both in the museum and cultural-heritage sector and in that of the performing arts. It has recently been working on two new areas of investigation, devoted to the use of urban and cultural spaces and to the study of their potential public and non-public.
Numerous studies have been carried out using approaches that vary in terms of quantitative and qualitative methodology. The theme of the use of culture and knowledge of the public has been tackled using tried and tested tools such as questionnaires, structured interviews and focus groups, but also by adopting innovative and experimental approaches such as observation studies (e.g. the Miranda project).
