WHAT ARE COOKIES
Cookies are short text files (letters and/or numbers) that are downloaded to the user’s device when visiting a website. Upon each subsequent visit, cookies are sent back to the originating website (first-party cookies) or to another site that recognises them (third-party cookies). Cookies are useful because they allow a website to recognise the user’s device. They serve various purposes, such as enabling efficient navigation between pages, remembering favourite sites, and generally improving the browsing experience. They also contribute to ensuring that online advertising content is more targeted to the user and their interests.
TYPES OF COOKIES
Technical Cookies
These are used for computer authentications, session monitoring, and storing specific information about users accessing a web page. They are not used for additional purposes and are usually installed directly by the website owner.
They can be divided into:
- Navigation or session cookies: ensure normal navigation and use of the website and can make it faster and more efficient, for example, by facilitating certain procedures when making online purchases or when authenticating access to restricted areas. They are deleted when the browser is closed.
- Analytical cookies: these are used by website managers to collect information, anonymously and in aggregate form, about the number of users and how they visit the website, thus generating general statistics about the service and its use.
- Functionality cookies: these allow users to browse based on selected criteria (e.g., language, products selected for purchase) to improve the service provided.
Profiling Cookies (or Behavioural)
These cookies are used to track the user’s online navigation and create profiles based on their tastes, habits, choices, etc. With these cookies, advertising messages in line with the user’s preferences already expressed during online navigation (Behavioural Advertising) can be transmitted to the user’s terminal. There are also other similar technologies (web beacons, flash cookies, silver light application storage) capable of storing and reading data files on the user’s computer. Due to the particular invasiveness that such devices can have in the privacy of users, European and Italian regulations require that users be adequately informed about their use and express their valid consent.
Third-Party Cookies
It may also happen that a web page contains cookies from other sites and content in various elements hosted on the page itself, such as advertising banners, images, videos, etc. These are called third-party cookies, which are usually used for profiling purposes.
This website exclusively uses technical cookies.
HOW COOKIES WORK AND HOW TO DELETE THEM
The operating methods as well as the options to limit or block cookies can be regulated by changing the settings of your Internet browser. Most Internet browsers are initially set to accept cookies automatically, but the user can change these settings to block cookies, or be notified each time cookies are sent to their device,or disable cookies (i.e., block them permanently) by setting the highest protection level.
If the user uses different devices to view and access this Site (e.g., computer, smartphone, tablet, etc.), they must ensure that each browser on each device is adjusted to reflect their cookie preferences. To delete cookies from the Internet browser on their smartphone/tablet, refer to the device’s user manual.
Please note that blocking technical cookies may compromise the functionality of this website.
The Data Controller reserves the right to make changes to this cookie policy.
The user and/or visitor to the website agrees to be bound by any such eventual and future revisions and therefore undertakes to periodically visit this page to be informed of any changes.
